EWS reservation should be cancelled
EWS reservation should be cancelled
BC Welfare Association Mandal President Mandapalli Srinivas demand
Mandapalli Srinivas, President of Endapalli Mandal BC Welfare Association, stated that according to the reservation introduced by the Central Government as part of Constitutional Amendment 103 in 2019, EWS (Economically Weaker Section) for the economically backward classes, severe injustice will be done to the BCs. He expressed concern that as 10% concession was given in government colleges, hostels and jobs on the basis of this reservation, only BC reservation will be cut. While SC, ST and BC are limited to their reservation in any recruitment, the people belonging to the OC social group are getting seats and jobs in colleges by blocking the EWS reservation. Even now, the government has responded and requested to amend the constitution and cancel the EWS reservation, which is causing severe injustice to the BCs. EWS reservation is used as a weapon to say that upper castes are not rich people with annual income of 8 lakhs, while those belonging to backward class (BC) are rich if their annual income exceeds one lakh. He questioned the justice in this and demanded the government to cancel EWS reservation in Telangana state. If not, they warned that they will take up protest programs under the auspices of the BC Welfare Association.
